The MRCEM Primary syllabus is based on the RCEM Basic Sciences Curriculum, covering: Anatomy – clinically relevant anatomy of limbs, head/neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, neuroanatomy, and surface anatomy Physiology – cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurophysiology, gastrointestinal, endocrine, and metabolic systems Pharmacology – drug mechanisms, kinetics, dynamics, emergency drugs, toxicology Microbiology – bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, infection control, antimicrobial therapy Pathology – cellular injury, inflammation, haematology, trauma-related pathology Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) – study designs, statistics, guideline application
