PACES – MRCP, UK Training Programme

Master Clinical Skills with UK-Aligned PACES Training in India

The PACES (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills) examination is the final and most challenging component of the MRCP (UK) qualification. It evaluates a doctor’s ability to apply clinical knowledge, demonstrate communication excellence, and manage patients safely and effectively.

IMSTP Educational Services Pvt. Ltd. offers a structured PACES training programme in India, designed in collaboration with Royal College–trained faculty and senior NHS consultants. This short-term intensive programme provides Indian doctors with real-time clinical exposure and practical preparation for the PACES exam—right here in India, with focused training centres in Kerala, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

About the PACES Examination

The PACES exam is conducted by the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and consists of five stations that simulate real clinical scenarios. Candidates rotate through each station, interacting with patients or surrogates while being assessed by two independent examiners.

PACES Stations Overview:

Station 1 – Respiratory and Abdominal Systems
Examine and interpret findings from real or simulated patients.

Station 2 – History Taking
Take a focused and structured history and discuss differential diagnoses.

Station 3 – Cardiovascular and Nervous Systems
Demonstrate advanced examination skills and clinical reasoning.

Station 4 – Communication and Ethics
Handle sensitive conversations, explain diagnoses, and demonstrate empathy.

Station 5 – Integrated Clinical Assessment
Combine data gathering, examination, and management planning within time limits.

Each station lasts approximately 20 minutes and reflects the practical skills expected of an internal-medicine trainee in the NHS.
